took out the Diriyah E-Prix for ahead of Porsche’s Andre Lotterer and Mercedes’ Stoffel Vandoorne after running an aggressive Attack-Mode strategy from fifth place on the grid.

Polesitter Alexander Sims got the early jump on the Mercedes of Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries, while Sam Bird slottedin behind Venturi Racing’s Edoardo Mortara.

Bird bided his time in utilising his second Attack Mode opportunity, eventually striking on lap 20, bringing with him the Porsche of Andre Lotterer as the Brit overtook de Vries to take third on lap 22.

A lap later, Vandoorne made a slightly clumsy move on Sims which gave the Belgian driver the lead and open the door for Bird to seize second place. Five laps later Vandoorne would relinquish the lead to Bird at Turn 18. Sam would take victory despite a late clash between Daniel Abt and Antonio Felix da Costa.

Reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne retired with a bent steering arm while Sebastien Buemi stopped on track on lap 3.
