The current DTM driver for Audi topped the second rookie test with a time of 1:17.074. The Swiss racer reached 91 laps around the 1.83 mile-circuit to complete a strong day in terms of consistency.
James Rossiter was the second quickest in a DS Techeetah to finish only one-tenth away from Mueller. The British driver also set a time with Jean-Eric Vergne’s car as per the testing programme. Consequently, the Super GT racer was second and fourth in overall times.
Antonio Fuoco had an outstanding performance with GEOX Dragon, slotting into Jose María López’s car with the third fastest time of the day. The Italian reserve driver for the American team, set a time of 1:17.338 – 1.3 seconds faster than the Argentinian did in Saturday’s qualifying.
Formula 2 racer, Nyck de Vries, was the fifth fastest in the overall of the two sessions today for Envision Virgin Racing. The Dutch driver was followed by Super GT racer, Jann Mardenborough in a Nissan in sixth place. Tatiana Calderon was seventh but she only took part in the morning session, due to a decision from DS Techeetah.
Arthur Leclerc performed well in tenth place in the overall times for Venturi, some seventh tenths away from Mueller’s time. Former Williams F1 driver, Sergey Sirotkin, finished in twelve for Mahindra Racing.
Felipe Nasr was expected with GEOX Dragon but didn’t take part in Marrakesh rookie test due to reported contract issues with Action Express Team, which runs the Cadillac brand in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in DPi class.
