’s signing of for their 2019 line-up has cemented the Thai-British driver’s departure from the ABB FIA team.

 

 

Albon was earmarked to race with the Nissan squad during the 2018/19 Formula E season to replace Nicolas Prost, however with Toro Rosso seeking out talent for 2019 quickly revealed Albon to be a front-runner to partner Daniil Kvyat at the Faenza F1 outfit next season.

 

Albon and Nissan have been in talks since the Valencia test to negotiate an exit deal for Albon and it is believed that that Nissan will soon confirm Oliver Rowland as Sebastien Buemi’s team-mate for next season.

A Nissan statement read:

 

“Nissan e.dams and Albon have agreed to part ways with Albon exiting his contract to take up a different opportunity in motorsport,”

 

“Details on who will drive as Sebastien Buemi’s team-mate will be revealed this Friday November 30 at the Nissan e.dams season five Formula E launch event in Tokyo.

 

“Nissan thanks Albon for his efforts to date and wishes him the best of luck for his future endeavours.”
