Gazoo Racing were on song in home territory at Fuji, with Sebastien Buemi leading a 1-2 TS050 in Free Practice One.



Buemi’s time of 1:25.847 in the number 8 car was half a second clear of Mike Conway in the number 7 sister entry, with the number 11 SMP of Jenson Button the same distance back in third. 


The Rebellion entries of Gustavo Menezes and Andre Lotterer rounded out the top five.


The only red flag period occurred forty minutes into the session when damage to the kerbs at turn three needed to be repaired. The LMP1’s did little to improve their times after this period.


In LMP2, Francois Perrodo’s number 28 TDS entry topped the timesheets ahead of the number 38 JCDC entry of Gabriel Aubrey and the number 11 Dragonspeed entry of Roberto Gonzales.


Olivier Pla’s number 66 Ford GT held off the Porsche GT pair of Richard Leitz and Kevin Estre to take LM GTE Pro honors .


In LM GTE Am, Pedro Lamy’s number 98 Aston Martin headed the Dempsey Proton Porsches of Julien Andlauer and the TS Sport Aston Martin of Jonathan Adam respectively.
