Reigning Formula E Champion will replace Loic Duval for next month’s after clash of rounds with the DTM final ruled Duval out of racing in Japan with the G-Drive outfit.

With Duval on duties for Audi at Hockenheim, Vergne will be adequately prepared to slot alongside teammates Francois Perrodo and Matthieu Vaxiviere in the number 28 TDS Oreca having competed in the majority of the European Le Mans rounds this season.

Having already scored a win with G-Drive at the 6 Hours of Spa, Vergne backed up his result with LMP2 victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, only to have the result overturned due to a fuel-rig infringement – which the team is challenging at the FIA Court of Appeal in September.
