Nakajima’s time of 3:17:270 put the number 8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid a tenth ahead of the sister Toyota of Kamui Kobayashi in the sister No. 7 car, two seconds ahead of the first non-hybrid SMP Racing entry of Stephane Sarrazin.


Sarrazin’s 3:19.483 put the number 17 BR Engineering BR1 Gibson third ahead of Rebellion’s R13 Gibson driven by Bruno Senna and the number 3 Rebellion sister entry.


Paul-Loup Chatin elevated the IDEC Sport Oreca 07 Gibson into top spot in LMP2, usurping Loic Duval’s previous best in the TDS Racing Oreca and the number 26 G-Drive Oreca of Jean-Eric Vergne.


Porsche continued their excellent run in GTE Pro, with Gianmaria Bruni taking the number 91 ‘Rothmans liveried’ Porsche 911 RSR into top spot.


The ex-Ferrari stalwart was a massive 1.5 seconds ahead of the sister ‘Pink Pig’ entry of Michael Christensen. The number 76 and 79 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing entries ran third and fourth respectively.


GTE-Am was a similar Weissach affair, with the pair of Dempsey-Proton Racing cars taling a provisional 1-2 withMatteo Cairoli heading Matt Campbell and the Gulf Racing Porsche of Benjamin Barker.
