got his championship challenge off to a good start in Paris this morning after topping the timesheets in Free Practice One ahead of Lucas di Grassi and Audi team mate, Daniel Abt.


Temperatures began much cooler for Free Practice One in Paris, with a mere 11° making temperatures extra difficult to generate tyre heat.


As such it came as no surprise to see the Red flag after just 15 minutes, with Nelson Piquet making contact exiting turn two on to the start finish straight. Only five minutes later, Felix Rosenqvist became another casualty with the barriers after launching off the kerbs and losing the rear at turn ten, resulting in damage to the front left suspension.



While both Piquet and Rosenqvist had time to jump into their spare cars spare cars, Buemi would also hit the barriers at turn 13 with six minutes remaining – he was however able to return the car to the pits.


No drivers completed full power 200kw runs, with the two Audi drivers covering the most laps (28), while Piquet could only manage 15 after his early shunt. The returning Ma Qing Hua steadily got to grips with the NIO, completing 25 laps but ending up bottom of the time sheets 1.5s behind teammate Oliver Turvey..
