BMW Motorsport has confirmed that will join Antonio Felix da Costa at Formula E for the remaining rounds of the 2017/18 FIA Formula E season.

 

The long time BMW factory driver will replace , who endured a tough opening round for the Andretti team at the season opener in Hong Kong, however, the team itself has not made an official statement on the line-up change. Blomqvist will step aside from his DTM duties to replace the Japanese driver.

 

A BMW press release, released in Munich yesterday, simply stated that: “Andretti has named BMW works driver Tom Blomqvist for the seat in the second car.”

 

Fellow BMW driver Alexander Sims was also announced as the team’s  official reserve driver.
