team principal Dilbagh Gill has praised his teams efforts for a remarkable comeback through the field after Felix Rosenqvist spun on the opening lap.

Rosenqvist eventually finished 2nd, but was promoted to the win when Daniel Abt was excluded from the results after a post-race inspection revealed FIA security stickers on the vehicle’s inverters did not align with those on the car’s technical passport.

“We knew we had a fast car”said Gill. “I’s been that way since yesterday. When Felix went back to 11th after the s pin in the first corner, we were pretty confident we could bring him back to 5th or 4th. Then Mortara had his problem and that gifted us a spot. I have been through every emotion I can think of – joy, highs to lows, anger to frustration. But overall leaving Hong Kong happy. I think as a team we have shown that we are pretty strong.

“The thing that I am really happy about is that we have continued where we left off the end of last season. So there was no drop-off”.

“We had a very strong finish last season and so we have taken off from there. That I think has given us a lot of confidence. Marrakesh was a track which was pretty nice to us. We were quite good at the fast tracks last year, not so good on the very slow tracks, and this year we are good on the slow tracks like Hong Kong. It’s very tight this year – very very tight”.
