Kazuki Nakajima led a 1-2 stream roller in Thursday practice for the 6 Hours of Bahrain, eager to end their four-year battle with Porsche in the ascendency.
Jose Maria Lopez held sway during the first part of opening practice in the number 7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid and traded times throughout most of Thursday until Nakajima’s 1 min 40.09 second lap gave the number 8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid the eventual top spot, with Brendon Hartley (in the number 2 Porsche 919 Hybrid) a further tenth off Lopez in in third and the sister car of Nick Tandy taking fourth.

The number 38 Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA finishing by edging Signatech Alpine with a 1:49.022.
Aston Martin Racing continued the Noah’s Ark theme by finishing 1-2 in GTE Pro, with the number 97 entry of Darren Turner putting four-tenth between himself and Marco Sorensen in number 95 entry
Matt Griffin headed GTE-Am in the Clearwater Racing Ferrari – psychologically damaging the rest of the AM field with a sub two-minute time in the 61 Ferrari 488 GTE. The Spirit of Race Ferrari was second, with the Aston Martin Racing Vantage third, while Dempsey Proton ensured a tough FP2 last and close to a second off the pace.
