once again dominated final practice for this weekend’s , with Kamui Kobayashi’s 1.44:888 enough to claim top honours in the 60 minute session.

The reason for the shortened session was to repair track kerbing after concrete had come loose during the session.

The big news however came in the form of Brenson Hartley when the Kiwi slowed in the number 2 title-leading Porsche 919 Hybrid; a gearbox issue halting the team’s progress to just six laps and throwing their title defence into potential disarray.

The gearbox in the number 2 car will be repaired before qualifying at 2pm local time this afternoon.

The number 26 G-Drive Racing Oreca 07 Gibson led the way in LMP2 ahead of the number 95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE topping GTE Pro.

In GTE Am, the number 54 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GTE took top honours.
