Faraday Future has signed a deal with outgoing LMP1 pilot   for it’s fourth season in ’s fourth season.

Jani will replace Frenchman, Loic Duval – who has been with the electric open-wheeler series since it’s inception.

Le Mans winner, Jani was left without a full-time drive for next year when Porsche announced it would be closing its LMP1 programme in order to focus on a Formula E entry in season six. Whether the Dragon racing deal will preclude driver from joining Porsche when they enter the championship remains to be seen.

“I am thrilled to join the Faraday Future Dragon Racing team in the next season of the FIA Formula E Championship,” Jani said.

“I’ve recently tested the PENSKE EV-2 powered by Faraday Future and look forward to building my knowledge and experience with the team and competing in the acclaimed electric racing series.

”Duval has been known to be en route out of Dragon for some time, with the team reportedly planning to replace him mid-season with Esteban Gutierrez, only for contractual obligations to keep the Frenchman in a seat.

Jani will race alongside d’Ambrosio, who was firmed up for a fourth straight season with Dragon in the same announcement.
