will replace Esteban Gutierrez at the Formula E team for the remainder of the 2016/17 season as the Mexican Gutierrez switches to IndyCar full-time.

The former Haas and Sauber F1 racer driver joined Techeetah for the Mexico City ePrix , showing early promise in the electric single-seater category with impressive qualifying performances and points finishes at the Monaco and Paris ePrix.

Gutierrez joins Dale Coyne Racing drive in place of the injured Sebastien Bourdais for this weekend’s IndyCar race in Detroit, setting the wheels in motion for Techeetah to find a replacement for the Mexican driver, ultimately targeting Stephane Sarrazin, who has been given permission by his Venturi team to join the Renault-powered privateer squad in Gutierrez’s place.
